About Pairmetric's Pivot Point Calculator

Pairmetric's Pivot Point Calculator helps you identify potential support and resistance levels for any instrument with a high, low and close price. Pivot points are a widely used technical analysis tool, calculated from the previous trading period's price range to highlight levels where price may pause, reverse or break through.

Enter the high, low, close (and optionally open) prices from the period you want to analyse, and the calculator returns the central pivot point along with three resistance levels (R1-R3) and three support levels (S1-S3) - useful reference points for planning entries, exits and stop-loss placement.

Pivot Point Calculator FAQ

A pivot point is a technical analysis indicator that identifies a central price level, along with support and resistance levels, calculated from the previous period's high, low and close prices.

The pivot point (PP) is the average of the previous period's high, low and close. Support and resistance levels (S1-S3, R1-R3) are then derived from the pivot point and the trading range.

Support levels are price points where an instrument has historically tended to stop falling, while resistance levels are price points where it has historically tended to stop rising.

Yes, pivot points can be calculated for any instrument with a high, low and close price, including Forex, Indices, Commodities, Metals, Cryptocurrencies and Shares.

Traders commonly use the previous day's prices for intraday pivot points, though weekly or monthly prices can also be used depending on your trading timeframe.
